What would it take to make a loyal New England Patriots fan attend every Cincinnati Bengals home football game? What would it take for this Patriots fan to don orange and black at each game? What would it take for this Patriots fan to spend a full day cheerfully selling concessions at each game for free? It would take HART.
HART volunteers are die-hard fans…pet fans that is. Our own Diane Johnston is one of the most loyal.
Diane is a faithful supporter of HART, a homeless animal rescue team. Volunteers like Diane spend their weekends at Paul Brown Stadium, selling concessions to support their animal cause. Others volunteer at Cincinnati Bearcats games, or the Western& Southern Tennis Tournament, or outside area PetSmart stores. No matter the location, they share a common goal: to rescue homeless animals, saving them from euthanization, abandonment, and abuse.
Many HART volunteers take in unwanted dogs and cats. They give them food, shelter, necessary veterinary care, and love, until another owner can be found. They also position themselves throughout our community to share their mission and their animals with the public. To become a volunteer for HART, go to contactus@rescueahart.org. “The reason I got involved was not only to help the animals, but also because I love sports. What better way is there to help out animals AND be able to watch NFL teams play all season long at no cost to me other than giving up a little of my time” says Diane Johnston, UPM Account Manager.
