During this season of giving, employees at United Performance Metals remember that not everyone will have gifts under their tree this Christmas, and they are stepping forward to help. For seven families who have opened their homes to foster children in Butler County, UPM employees will become Santa for a day.
A tree was set up in the cafeteria with a wish list from the foster children in each of these homes. UPM employees purchased exactly what the children wanted, making things a little brighter for them this time of year. The funds foster families receive from the county help cover the costs of basic needs, so receiving extras at Christmas time is very much appreciated. The employees at UPM are happy to help.
“Sharing our blessings even in a small way like this is part of our purpose on earth,” says Jon Markle, Regional Account Manager.
Lisa Collier, Account Manager, knows the true meaning of Christmas isn’t about presents, but this cause is still very important to her.
“I would hate to think of a little child without something to open,” Collier says. “Kids should believe there is a Santa for as long as possible.”
Tracy Graff, UPM’s Shear/CTL Production Planner has spearheaded the holiday program for the past six years.
“It’s a great feeling when I drop the gifts off at Butler County Children’s Services…It really shows the true meaning of Christmas,” Graff says.
