Spotlight on Graduating Seniors

We’re celebrating the commencement of Alyssa Davis from Fairfield High School, Class of 2014.  Alyssa is the daughter of Sherri Davis, HR and Training Lead for United Performance Metals.

Alyssa enjoyed many experiences throughout her years at Fairfield, but above all, her heart belonged to show choir. She began as a middle-school teen, joining  Rhythm Express. When Alyssa moved up to high school she became a part of Pure Elegance, an all-female chorus group, and she also joined The Fairfield Choraliers, a premier show choir. She was later elected as dance captain for Pure Elegance and alto captain of the Fairfield Choraliers.  As if those prestigious roles didn’t keep her busy enough, Alyssa was also chosen as a member of the Student Leadership Committee within Choraliers, allowing her to plan their shows and mentor other singers and dancers within the group.  Her involvement in this incredible musical performance program was the most fulfilling experience Alyssa has encountered so far in her young life.  Her participation in show choir allowed Alyssa to travel across the country and perform with her peers where she was fortunate enough to earn top honors including national championships, grand champions, best choreography, and best vocals. She was also able to perform at the Grand Ole Opry and at Universal Studios’ Hard Rock Theater, and was selected to sing a solo part during the Choraliers’ performance at her graduation ceremony.

An interesting note to add; The Fairfield Choraliers recently performed a special piece from Back to the Future at the DeLorean convention.  In the audience for this particular performance was the actual cast of the movie, including Christopher Lloyd!  It was an inspiring experience for everyone involved.

This love for singing and dancing runs in Alyssa’s family as her sister, Kelsie, and before that, her cousins, were also a part of the Fairfield Choraliers.   What’s next for Alyssa?  She plans to attend the University of Cincinnati next fall, and she is looking forward to numerous opportunities that college will bring.  One day, Alyssa hopes to be involved in  social reform and she aspires to become a sign language interpreter.  We wish her the very best!
