The holiday season provided plenty of opportunities for celebrating. That usually meant spending time with family and friends, and it typically involved lots and lots of food! At times like these, it could be hard to resist tasting a little bit of everything.
UPM Makes Wellness a Priority
Being a proactive company, these tips and more were shared with the staff before the holidays. Everyone was encouraged to participate in the UPM Wellness event “Maintain Don’t Gain”. Participants’ success with the program was measured through a series of weigh-ins. We’re happy to report that of the 66 participants, 59 of them were able to maintain their weight throughout the month, or even lose a pound or two! That’s a success rate of 89%. Planning ahead and providing a little encouragement made it possible to enjoy a healthier holiday season!
UPM encouraged its employees to enjoy their holiday celebrations with mindful eating and the following tips:
* Enjoy a healthy snack before going to a big dinner
* Be selective when there is a lot of food to choose from
* Fill half of your plate with fruits and vegetables
* Incorporate physical activity into your day
