Hamilton, OH - August 18, 2006. Successful test runs on Ferguson Metals' new Red Bud cut-to-length line marked the completion of the company's announced upgrades to its facility and operations. Company founder and president, Wayne Ferguson, commented, "Recent upgrades to our facility and equipment place us in a strong position for continued growth in the markets we serve and the opportunity to extend our business into new ones."
The company's plant and operation upgrades included the addition of 39,000 square feet of warehouse and processing space and a new state-of-the-art Red Bud cut-to-length line. "The addition has really allowed us to capitalize on many of the suggestions and learnings that have resulted from our Lean Manufacturing efforts over the past two years. The technology represented in our new cut-to-length line will certainly provide efficiency gains, but having the space to better organize and streamline our processing and warehousing operations will also be very beneficial," commented Ferguson's Director of Operations, Bob Vogel.
On October 4th, 5th and 6th Ferguson Metals will host an open house at its Hamilton, Ohio facility to highlight the changes and additions.
